For My Swapee

This was my first swap and it was fun. I went a little crazy with it but only because I wanted to. I made the tote bag reversible and embroidered her name on it. There are activity books for her two kids and a hat for the new baby, and enough yarn for a matching sweater. Jojoland Harmony yarn, KnitPicks Harmony needles, KoolAid for dying, Knitting Girl mints, Celestial Tea Sampler, Handcreme, some sewing patterns, and Piecework mag I received duplicate of. I guess next time I will be more careful with the weight because the postage was $23 to Finland! DH mailed it and didn't complain, so I won't either.
I thought my camera broke so I couldn't take a picture of the swap stuff I received. Er, um, but I think it was my battery charger, not the camera. So after buying a new Olympus camera (which I haven't used yet) I tried its batteries in the old camera...and it worked. Oh well, I'll just keep it for a spare. Now I'll take some time and reassemble what I did not eat yet of the swap I received so I can take a pic.

A Shawl for Ann

My sister just had her 70th birthday. I made this shawl for her. I told her it is "age appropriate". Ha Ha - not really in her case. I used KnitPicks "Swish" worsted washable wool in "Marine Heather". It is very soft, so I bought more for my stash. Maybe one day I'll make one for myself ...or maybe someone else I think I heard say they wished they had one. ??? We'll see.

Did You Know This?

I discovered recently that I can see pictures on a blog much clearer and up close if I click on the picture. Try it!

A Shawl for Oma

Our neighbor here in the Adirondacks fell and broke her arm, so I crocheted this shawl for her with Caron Simply Soft. I chose this color so it would be cheerful during the long Adirondack winters.

Friday's Child

My dear knitting buddy in Florida (Pennyknits on Rav) embroidered this for me before we both left for New York in May. She said she made it because I AM "Loving and Giving" and I WAS born on a Friday. I made the panel into a pillow case so I can use it every day. I can't get enough pillows!

A New Toy!

Well, here it is - my newest toy! I have been lusting after the "Fiber Minder" for a long time now but just could not bring myself to spend $119.00 + on it. I'm sure it is lovely in machined metal - aluminum I think. But, now I followed a link (www.aloomwithaview.com) in a Ravelry post and found this! I ordered the 7" one in Cherry wood for $28.00! I think I like it even better because it is warm wood. The one negative thing though is that the postage in $10.25 and I'm only one state away. :(
