Dallas Knitting

I had a lovely shopping spree at the Woolie Ewe in Plano, Texas recently. The red silk "Liesel" scarf will be for my childhood friend's 60th birthday. The Debbie Bliss Chunky Cashmerino scarf has been completed and sent to my "cashmere" sister in New Jersey. I couldn't resist the red Lacey Lamb - so fine.
I went there every day and of course had to have the Claudia's handpainted silk - very pricey, but as they say "I'm worth it!" LOL As a member of Ravelry I received a 10% discount and a free Woolie Ewe mug which I love. I returned a bag of Sirdar DK and of course had to give in to the beautiful Jojoland "Harmony" in purple and very reasonable.
When I arrived home, my orders from KnitPicks and Patternworks awaited me. A wonderful set of Harmony interchangeable needles - I made a nice little case for them which I will photograph soon (too much knitting to do and of course, browsing Ravelry). I got two hanks of Bare laceweight for the Wings of a Dream stole ( a variation of Swan Lake Mystery Stole #3). I ordered a cone of Cotton Fine too. At first sight I thought it was a little like a cone of string and wasn't too sure I liked it. Then I knitted up a little swatch and it is really lovely - part cotton and part wool - nice.
I have way too much on the needles at the moment. I also have way too many sewing/quilting projects going. I need to become a recluse and just work hard all day getting my projects done. I would like to knit every lace project in the Victorian Lace Today book and also all of Evelyn Clark's new patterns! WARNING: Lace Knitting is Addictive!

Swallowtail Shawl

I had fun knitting this Swallowtail Shawl by Evelyn A. Clark. Instead of using laceweight, I used KnitPicks Shine Sport so that it would come out larger. It is a nice size and very soft. It is too bad that the picture doesn't do it justice, the texture is really pretty. It was an easy and enjoyable pattern to knit.
