Mister Snappy Alligator
Here is my version of an "Alligator Scarf" It is supposed to be knitted with lots of center repeats to form a long scarf, but since I live in Florida and have lots of hot flashes LOL I just knitted an itty bitty version. Then of course my daughter had to go a point out that Mister Snappy Alligator doesn't have any legs! Hmmmm, so maybe I'll get around to crocheting some for him.....?
I should take a better picture of my Masterpiece. This Beaded Diamond Shawl designed by Catherine Devine was knitted with Schaefer Yarn "Andrea" which is a lace weight silk - very beautiful and lovely to work with. I had allocated one week to knit this shawl, but unfortunately it took two months! Many, many days I knitted 8 - 12 hrs. In the beginning there was a lot of frogging, and a consult with the designer via e mail. But, I hung in there and finally finished it. It is 39" square and the points are worn at the back front and at each elbow. When I finished the body, I figured it wouldn't be long till I had it finished - WRONG! The 9 st edging took forever! But it was all worth it. I will definitely take another picture of me wearing it because it drapes so beautifully. Thank you Catherine and Schaefer Yarns!
